In the Spirit of Giving
The Boys from 4th Kota Kinabalu Company truly revels in the spirit of giving. They have just visited St. Theresa Home in Kota Marudu, Sabah .
Before going, our company had asked for donations of flour, cooking oil, soap powder, canned food, biscuits and many more from the Boys and the public. The response was very good.
The pleasant journey to Kota Marudu took about 3 hours. During the journey we had the opportunity to go to the local tamu in Kota Belud to buy our stuff for outdoor cooking as some of the Boys were doing part of the Camping Award.
When we arrived, we were greeted warmly by Sr. Marie Ann, the head of the home. Then we handed the entire donations to the home. The children at St. Theresa home were certainly happy, as after receiving the donations. Children at the centre include those orphans and other very poor kids from ages of 5 and above. The Sister then made a short speech.
After singing some songs, we proceeded to our outdoor cooking session. Each group had to teach the children how to start a fire and cook with mess tin. Every group did a great job as the food was very tasty.
After some time with the children, we left Kota Marudu and headed back to K.K. as it was getting late. We arrived at Sacred Heart Cathedral safely after the day long visit.
