Fourth KL goes to Bukit Berembun

On the 24th to 26th of November 2006, our company, 4 th KL had its yearly company camp at Bukit Berembun, Raub, Pahang. Everyone gathered at church early in the morning and the NCOs started checking on the camper's rucksack. After our final checking and a prayer from our Captain, off we go to Pahang. We left church about 10am and it took us about 3 hours to reach the empty ground which is located near the hill. Then we waited for 15 minutes before our 4WD arrived. A short briefing from our Lieutenant and we continued our journey up to the hill, to the campsite.

We had 30 minutes of bumpy ride, and finally we reach the campsite. The ride was so exciting and nearly bounced me off the car. We reach the campsite at about 1.30pm.

Everyone helped to unload our belongings from the car and started pitching our tents. After everything was settled down, we had our lunch and followed by a class session.

Free time is right after the class session. All the privates went to collect fire woods while the NCOs and officers busy setting up the place. It's about 5.30pm and it's getting late, 2 group starts cooking dinner while the other 2 group went to wash up and it goes the other way round and then we had our dinner. After having our dinner, we continue with BBQ. Everyone had fun chatting. At 11pm, it's lights off and everyone went to their tents to get their beauty sleep.

The second day, everyone woke up at 7.30am, wash up and ate their breakfast. NCOs taught the boys how to build fire to cook for themselves and later that day, the campers had a test on building fire and cooking their own lunch. After eating our lunch, we headed straight away for jungle tracking. We track about an hour to reach the peak of the waterfall. There are 3 stations where we can play water. The first station was a mini water slide. The second station was the nature's Jacuzzi and the third and the last station was the big water slide. We all have a great time playing around. We are advice to wear the life jacket while we were playing at the waterfall to avoid bad things to happen. At 5pm, we went back to our campsite to cook our dinner. As usual, 2 groups cook, and the other 2 group wash up. After having our dinner, the NCOs build the campfire and then we continue with some games. We spent 2 hours on playing games and then we have a sharing session.

Everyone was tired after the jungle tracking and went to sleep.

It's the third and the last day. The NCOs woke up early and prepared breakfast for the boys. After having our breakfast, we had morning devotion and then we started to pack up our belongings. Before we went home, we have the last taste of the waterfall.

We play and then we start cleaning up the campsite. At 11am, we loaded our belongings on the 4WD and made our way down the hill and went home. It was the most memorable camp I ever had
