First Klang Beach Outing

On the 3rd of February 2007, the First Klang Boys` Brigade had organized a trip to Port Dickson. We all gathered at the Methodist High School at 7.00 a.m. and a short briefing was given by our leader, Cpl Michael about the trip. After that we were spilt up into squads to make it easier for the officers and the NCOs to manage the boys. At around 7.30 a.m., we all entered the bus and headed to Port Dickson. On our way to our destination, the boys were so excited that some of them were playing games in the bus.

We reached our destination at around 9.45 a.m. and were immediately summoned for a roll call to be given a briefing by Cpl Michael again. Soon after that, we were lead by our Captain to a hallway to place our bags and were dismissed for around 2 hours of free sports time. A volleyball game was held for the boys and the officers to compete against each other and the basic rule was applied `Winners stays, Losers leaves`. There's also a football game played among the members only because of all the officers are involved the volleyball game.

At 12 p.m., the tug-of-war was held for the squads to compete against each other and the winner of the game was Squad 4. Right before lunch a new game called `Pushball` game was held and the squads was divided from 4 squads to 2 squads. Then it was lunch and at 1.15 p.m., we were told that we will be going to the beach to have some activities by the sea. When the boys reached the beach, the team was instructed by the officers to form a barrier at the deeper part of the sea to avoid the boys to swim too far away from the beach. Once again the game of volleyball was held and this time it was 3 on 3 due to the size of the court. All the boys were released for free time until around 3.15 p.m., the boys were instructed to wash up by 4 p.m. due to the time that we were supposed to leave the place and reached Klang at 6 p.m. in the evening.

A roll call was held before we headed home to make sure all the boys were there. On our way home, most of the boys dozed off, as they were too tired to be restless. We reached Methodist High School at around 6.15p.m. In my opinion, the trip was a success. Although all of us were very tired, we all really enjoyed the wonderful trip with pleasure.
