BB joins Rakan Muda Chinese New Year Celebrations
By Terence Tay (BBM HQ Staff)

Today is the 14th of March, it is about 10 days after the Chinese New Year. A bit too late for a Chinese New Year celebration?
Nope, the folks at Kementerian Belia dan Sukan don't think so! Well, it was supposed to be within the 15 days of Chinese New Year but due to the busy schedule of our ministers, the Rakan Muda Chinese New Year Celebration was held today.
This time the BB were not just spectators, we had a small but major role to play. So, what do you think we did ?
Well, BB is famous for it's smartness in uniform and of course the band and hence we offered our services in playing the fanfare as the VIPs enters the Stadium Putra in Bukit Jalil.

As the VIPs walks in, our BB members lined the walkway that leads to the VIP table.
Well, it was not a difficult tasks but the members did it with great pride and honour. It was a great opportunity for the BB to be seen
by the public and the ministers. It was also our way of saying 'thank you' to the Kementerian Belia dan Sukan for recognising us and supporting us.

The programme of the day was interesting. Being a multi-racial and multi-religious country, thought it was a Chinese New Year celebration, the whole programme had
elements of the three main races. Instead of the typical cultural performance, the performances were more upbeat and had a mix of traditional and modern. It just
goes to show that the Youth of today need not forget about their culture while living in the 21st century.

Hence BB too has a major role to play in moulding our young people to face the challenges of the 21st century and at the same time not forget about our cultural values.
